Shawn Mills is a seasoned criminal defense attorney serving Monterey County with more than twenty-five years of legal experience and a reputation built on personal attention, compassion, and relentless advocacy. A Monterey Peninsula resident since 1969, Shawn brings a unique life background to his legal practice that extends far beyond traditional legal training. Before becoming an attorney, he earned degrees in Psychology and Social Work Education, worked with inmates and families through counseling programs in the San Francisco County Jail system, and served for over a decade in the United States Coast Guard and Coast Guard Reserve. These experiences shaped his belief that successful legal representation begins with understanding the person behind the case—not simply the charges they face.
